Inspired writing
In writing with Mr Scott we had to do inspired writing. Inspired writing is when you look at a picture and write what you see in the picture. We had 5 choices of a topic. They were Space, Animals, Apocalyptic, Fantasy and Our world. Each of the topics had several pictures and we got to choose them and then write about them. We had a certain way on what to write, we had to write 6 sentences about the picture but we had certain Vocabs. So here was what we had to write:
- Write a simple sentence that describes something about the picture.
- Add adjectives to the simple sentence, to add more detail.
- Add more language features like similes or metaphors to enhance the sentence.
- Use topic words directly related to the picture.
- Use emotive language to create/clarify mood.
- Paint a clear picture in the mind of my readers and give the reader detailed and specific information.
So here was the order then we had to do like order. I chose to do Apocalyptic because the photos looked interesting. So here are my sentences on my story and my picture:
- An abandoned city.
- An abandon dark city.
- An abandon dark city. It’s quiet just like space. Signs standing there just like boring cows munching on the grass.
- An abandon dark city. It’s quiet just like space. Signs standing there just like boring cows munching on the grass. The pole lights were rusting while sitting there like trees. Rubbish on the ground looks like its been there for long.
- An abandon dark city. It’s quiet just like space. The pole lights were rusting while sitting there like trees. Signs standing there just like boring cows munching on grassThe streets are filled with loneliness and sadness.
- An abandon the dark city. It’s quiet just like space. The lights were rusting while sitting there like trees. Signs standing there just like boring cows munching on grassThe streets are filled with loneliness and sadness. The sun shines through the stained windows.

Renewable energy
In science, we had to learn about different types of renewable energy and what they are used for. We had to make a dlo or a normal blog about each of the renewable energy's so here is my slide:
Cliate change
What places will be affected?
Were places are already flooding
What else do we need to think about?
Islands and where they're lower building
What other places around NZ will be affected?
Coastal areas
What does this do to our drinking water?
Adds more salt
What are the main concerns?
- Drinking water
- Floodings
What can we do?
- To use fewer fossil fuels
- Walk more often
- Cut home energy
What is the one, silver bullet solution?
There is no solution
What is the mix of things we need to start doing?
- Using electric vehicles
- Use electric heating
- Renewable energy
What are 3 others you can think of?

Roles:
Roles:
- Timekeeper
- Counter
- Recorder
- Anemometer Manager
- Wind Manager
- Mount the anemometer in a place that has full access to the wind from all directions.
- When the timekeeper says "Go", the counter in each group will count how many times the marked cup passes them in one minute and write it down.
- Repeat the above step four (4) times and record the number of spins on the chart.
FINDINGS
- Record how many times it spins and record it in the table below.
- You will need to time them and count the number of spins.
Place name on school grounds | Number of Spins in 15 seconds | |
1. | Field | 0 |
2. | Old J block site | 7 |
3. | Grass hill | 6 |
4. | Tennis court gate | 2 |
CONCLUSION:
There was not much wind today so the experiment didn't really work, but we did get a bit of wind on the other side of the school. The ones that had the most spins was Old J block and the Grass hill. The one that had the most spins was the Old J block, the second was the Grass hill and then the Tennis courts. Somehow there was less wind comming from the Field. That means the areas that what surrounded got more wind the field was open spaced which had less wind.
