Haiku- spring

Spring Poem

So for drama, we had to make a haiku poem about spring in groups of 2-3. So I went into a group with Lily and Maia, we had a job to do each. My job was to write down adjective words of spring, Maia's job was finding verbs about spring and Lily's job was finding words of nouns about spring.

So if you don't know what a haiku is it is a poem that has 17 syllables in it. In three lines of five, seven, and five. So then we added the words together to make it as a poem. Here is my poem that I had made:

                                              Spring

Pretty, bright, the sky as wonderful as a winter wonderland.
Animals blossom like a flower awakening from an autumn slumber
Sun shines bright like a single star in the night sky.

Here is a drawing that I did at the back of the poem so when my group reads it you can see the drawing of spring and know that it is about spring:

Here is a poem that Lily had made:

Springtime

Sound of birds
Flying high in the sky
What a lovely spring

2040 Documentary

Today in drama and science we had to work with SH and DS. What we did is watch a documentary in the auditorium. It was called in 2040. The video was about a man and he was telling his daughter about global warming and how we can prevent it from becoming more worse than now.

The documentary took 1 and a half of the periods, so it took very long. The man who was talking was Damon gameau. What he did was travel all around the world and talked to other people and how they prevent global warming. What surprised me was that Bangladesh was very smart, what they did was they had used this box. What it did was it collected the solar energy and then it would save it. Then if the owners wanted to they could share it to others that needed the power.

At night when they needed power, they would use the box and use the power because what the box did was it saved the power and then when they needed it they could use it.

In the documentary, they showed children and they had asked them several questions about what they wanted in the future and what they would do to prevent global warming. Most of them had said they wanted to make a thing that only used solar power, some had said we could stop eating animals and eat more of fruits and plants.

What really excited me in the documentary was that they had time travelled and showed what would happen if we do something about global warming and see how beautiful it could look. There would be self drivable cars charged by solar, buildings growing plants all over them. Seeing green everywhere. This is exactly what I really want see in the future.

What I worry about is if we don't stop that we might all die and we might won't get to achieve that we wanted to see. But he makes it more possible but that is all I have to say it was really amazing but I won't watch it again.

Drama

This week in drama we had to learn why we have to eat healthily and how it affects us and what junk food does to us. To learn this Mr Tisch sent us a doc and we had to fill in the gaps. We also had to make puppets so we could film a video with them then share it to the class. We had to work in our normal form class so 1 class would do the puppets and then the other class would do the worksheet for the Hauora health. I learned that healthy eating is really good for you and if you constantly keep eating junk food you would be overweight and would get very sick. Here is what I wrote about Hauora:

So here is my puppet that I had made:
We had to use paper bags, paper and colouring pens. I had traced the face, the wing and the tails then I folded the paper so it wouldn't make the dragon big and then glued the face,  the wing and the tail. I added some colours to make it nice.

For the show I'm with Lily and Maia, so what we are doing is eating healthy. The story is to eat healthily.

Funny

This slide is explaining things that make me laugh.

Drama games

This hurumanu we are in drama. The first day that we did drama we had played games, my favourite game was statues. In the game statues, we had 2 people chosen to be the spectators and they had to walk around the classroom and see who moved, then if they caught you you had to sit down. Now you can move but move when they are not looking.

The point of this game is to be the focus and still and not fidgeting and also to win. This game is fun to play with your class, family and friends.
