Cup stacking - Sport hurumanu

This week in sport hurumanu we have been focusing on how to professionally cup stack. When we arrive to class we play bench ball and then we watch a video on how to do the 3, 6, 3, last week we focused on the 3,3,3. Then once we had watched the video we got started, so we grabbed 12 cups of the same colour and we got started. I really like cup stacking it’s really easy and is good for anyone to try it. If you want to try here are the things you need:

  • Professional staking cups
  • Non sliding surface
Here is some video to show you how to cup stack easily:

These two videos show do cup stacking but it slows down and shows you step by step.

Sport reflection

This week in our P.E Hurumanu we did cross-court games. The 3 games we played was floor hockey,
bench ball and cross-court football. We played these in the new gym, the focus was to work with others
that we mostly wouldn't play with. We also focused on how we acted during those 3 games and learn how
to solve our own problems instead of the teachers.

Our activity was floor hockey.  For this activity, I rated my self as a level 3 because I was using positive
words when the other team was cheating. Even though it was frustrating I still kept calm and kept playing
and having fun. To achieve level 4 we have to show that we can consistently be more active in the game
even if we are winning. If the other team loses then we still have to be positive to the other team.

During the game of floor hockey, I showed that I am working at level 3 by being positive to my team and
the other team and cheer my team and the other team. These examples show that I have met the
standard for level 3. While playing the Cross-court games, something that I found challenging was trying
to communicate with the team. The reason I found this challenging was because my team was being loud
and they were still focused on getting the ball back. However, I managed to overcome this challenge by
yelling and waiting for them to stop. Next week I am aiming to work at level 4. To make sure that I am
working that level I am going to work on
being a leader and being positive to the other team.

Sport reflection

This week in our P.E Hurumanu we have been playing floor hockey and 6 corners soccer. We played them in the old gym, the reason why was because we had to work on our teamwork and how we play.

Our first activity was floor hockey. For this activity, I rated my self as a 3 because I was always getting involved in the game when I was with the people I didn't want to be with. I used positive and helpful comments when I was on the bench when we didn't win the round I would still be positive and keep trying.

To achieve level 4 we have to show that we can consistently be more like a leader and help the team
when we were struggling with the other team. We also need to not worry about who we are versing cause
if we do we would worry and lose. During the first game of floor hockey, I showed that I am working at the
level 3 by being positive and participate. These examples show that I have met the standard for level 3.

Our second activity was 6 corner soccer. For this activity, I rated my self as a 3 because I was
supportive of my team and was being involved in the game. I was also cheering my team on when we
did or did not get the goal. To achieve level 4 we have to show that we can consistently be a leader and always working with each other as a team and not a single person. We should always use positive words to each other another team. During the first game of 6 corners soccer, I showed that I am working at level 3 by always having a
positive perspective and being committed. These examples show that I have the standard for level 3 by
always being positive and committed to the team. Also being supportive to the team as well. Next week I
am aiming to work at level 4. To make sure that I am working that level I am going to work on being a
leader in a positive way and constantly being positive to the team.

Involvement in sport

This week in our P.E Hurumanu we have been…
  • (What) Bench ball and kick a long ball
  • Where In the gym
  • (Why) To work on our teamwork and involvement in the games

S - Statement
E - Explanation
E - Example

Statement
Our first activity kick long ball For this activity, I rated my self as a 4 because I was cheering my teammates when they got the goal but if they didn't I said good try. I was involved in the game even though I didn't want to and if I didn't get it I was resilient and tried again.

Explanation
To achieve level 4 we have to show that we can consistently be a leader by making contributes to the team, also to make sure you involve other people and encourage them in a positive way.

Example
During the first game of kick long ball, I showed that I am working at level 3 by being positive to my team and encouraging them if they didn't believe in themselves. These examples show that I have met the standard for level 3.

Statement
Our second activity was bench ball. For this activity, I rated my self as a 4 because I was a leader to the team, I had made sure everyone was okay with what they were doing. When I was on the bench or not I still encourage my team. When they were struggling I told them the technique on how to get the ball of the other team.

Explanation
To achieve level 4 we have to show that we can consistently have a positive attitude to the team by always encouraging them when they gave up and always cheer them on.

Example
During the game of bench ball, I showed that I am working at level 4 by being a leader and having a positive attitude. These examples show that I have met the standard for level 4.

Next week I am aiming to work at level 4. To make sure that I am working that level I am going to work on always having a good attitude and helping my team by being a little more patient.

My own game

For hurumanu 7/8 Mt and Ts have worked together and made their own games individually. My game was double bounce, it is like hand ball but with some different rules ( I think ). So today we went in groups of 4 and played each other games. Once we learned each others games we chose what game to teach. So the game me and my group chose was double bounce of course. So here is the rules of the game so you can play at home:

Double Bounce
                                                       Made by: Milan

Object
The object of the game is to try to make someone get out so you can be the king/Queen of the game.
Players
You can have two-four players.
Equipment
A handball and a chalk.
Scoring
Everytime you double bounce the ball in someone else's square you get 1 point.
Winning
Whoever gets everyone out is the winner of the game and #gets to be in the 4th square.
Rules
  1. If you triple bounce in your square you are out.
  2. Try to double bounce the ball in someone else's square.
  3. When you bounce the ball you bounce it in your square first and then you hit the ball into someone's square.
  4. You can't bounce the ball on the line or your out.
  5. You can only do bridge and taxi once in the round.
  6. You can hold the ball but you have to say swipe.
  7. If you hit the ball that wasn’t in your square your out.
  8. When someone says “Challenge” and then past the ball to you,  you can say accept or decline ( if you say accept it just you two players vs each other )
  9. Once you are out you have to move clockwise
