Aim: To make a filtration plant using household materials.
Water Filtration Plant |
What is the filtration?
Filtration is separating solids from liquids by adding a medium through which only the liquid can pass.
Examples are:
- Water
- Air
- Oil
- Pool
Materials
1. Funnel
2. Container
3. Filter paper
4. Plastic cup
5. Sand
6. Pebbles
7. Dirty water
8. Scissor
Process - ( use verbs or doing words in each step )
Step 1
Cut the bottle in half.
Step 2
Put the top half upside down and put it in the bottom half of the bottle.
STEP 3
Add layers of filter paper that is a shape of a cone with sand inside, pebbles.
STEP 4
Get 1 cup of dirty water and carry it to your table.
STEP 5
Pour the dirty water into the layers and watch it go through the filters and see if the water goes clear.
Conclusion:
It was really hard that we had to make the filter paper spread out when we had sand inside so we had 2 jobs to do at the same time. We had to do it the right order to make it work and we had to make sure that the water was going the right way that we want it to.
It took us a lot of times to make it perfect and we had to think a lot to make the experiment work. We also have to work as a team instead of fighting and then we didn't even do the work and we fail.
In the end, we finally know what we had to do to make it go clear and clean so we could drink it. We also needed another filter paper so we could have it take more dirt and then when it goes through again it would fully go clear and clean for us to drink.
